About the Branch . . .
The Sandhurst Alzheimer's Support Group was established in February 1993 and came of age by graduating to Branch status on the 16th May, 1995 and is now known as the Sandhurst & District Branch of the Alzheimer's Disease Society.
Its objective is to provide help and support for those caring for people with Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia, across the three neighbouring counties of Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire.
Informal monthly meetings are held to provide the opportunity for members to meet in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, to discuss and share their problems with others who are also experiencing similar difficulties.
Guest speakers are invited to talk on related topics along with professionals, who can offer advice and guidance on a wide range of subjects.
The Branch meets at the Sandhurst Day Centre, Yorktown Road, Sandhurst, 7.30 for 8.00pm on the FIRST MONDAY of every month, except for Bank Holidays.
Courses related to all aspects of caring are being arranged, with tuition from qualified and experienced practitioners.
The Sandhurst & District Branch is becoming more widely known and respected for its contribution in these matters.
If you are a carer, former carer or a concerned relative or friend,
YOU are invited to our meetings ...
NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE!
The opportunity to discuss any problems you may have either collectively as a group, or if you prefer, privately with your selected partner.
The Branch is able to offer a wide range of booklets and information sheets on dementia related subjects, as well as some videos.
A quarterly Newsletter, the 'Discovery' is produced by the members and all are encouraged to contribute. It enjoys a wide circulation reaching those with an interest in the Branch.
Upon joining the Branch, you are eligible for a FREE first year's Membership of the Allheimer's Disease Society. There are many benefits available by belonging to it.
The social side of life is considered a very essential aspect, providing a much needed break for the Carer. Regular social events for Carers and sometimes the one they are caring for, are held which are FREE to members of the Branch.
The success of the Branch is largely due to an energetic committee, striving to get this young organisation established, all of whom give their time and energy freely.
Above all it is ...
